These two lonely firs standing alone on a large piece of granite in Georgian Bay have been a favourite subject of mine to paint these many years. I have interpreted them mainly in an abstract fashion but I wanted to add an impressionistic feel to this latest painting within the abstracted shapes and forms in the rocks. These two brave firs are continually windswept so I decided to ‘paint’ the movement of these winds that speak to my heart of mystery and the life of the spirit.
